Albumay! - quiettheory - 04-30-2026 Tomorrow is the start of Albumay! What is Albumay, you ask? ALBUMS + MAY = ALBUMAY ALBUMAY RULES: ·Only listen to albums. ·No playlists or algos. ·Front to back. No track skipping. LOCKED IN MODE: ·One album a day, every day. · Only music you own (vinyl, CD, cassette, MP3). No streaming. ·Every album in one sitting. RE: Albumay! - bry - 04-30-2026 I will be participating in Albumay and y'all should join me. I'm dusting off my CD binders, my cassette tapes, and my old mp3 hard drives. RE: Albumay! - wilderland - 04-30-2026 Love this. Definitely participating Locked In Mode. RE: Albumay! - bry - 05-01-2026 Happy Albumay! Probably starting with a CD today. I'm excited about this. I feel like my brain needs some rewiring from how much I will passively listen to music now. This will also be some good cadence for posting in here. RE: Albumay! - wilderland - 05-06-2026 To my great shame I haven't listened to a full album every day, but I have been able to sit down with some records I own and gave them a full front to back listen. This is something I try to do often anyways, but appreciate the extra encouragement to do it this month. So far: La Dispute, 'Wildlife' Dayglow, 'Dayglow' The Japanese House, 'In the End It Always Does' Sigur Ros, 'ÁTTA' RE: Albumay! - bry - 05-06-2026 (05-05-2026, 08:21 PM)callmetim Wrote: Those photos from the year 2000 are pretty good quality. Curious how you are listening to each. Always the same medium or platform? RE: Albumay! - wilderland - 05-06-2026 (05-06-2026, 09:11 PM)bry Wrote: I like keeping track like that. My cassette player is so awesomely warbly that it makes everything sound like it's run through a Chase Bliss pedal, so planning on listening to that as I usually do soon. I just need a CD player so I can break out my binder and properly relive the glory days. RE: Albumay! - gruidl - 05-08-2026 I do about 90% of my listening as full albums, and the format varies between my vinyl collection and digital collection. I had to start a google sheet to suggest what I should listen to next, since that digital collection is just too big. RE: Albumay! - bry - 05-08-2026 When yall listen to WAV/MP3, how do you listen? |
