Demos - bry - 04-21-2026 RE: Demos - bry - 04-21-2026 Gonna be adding more demos along the way but still debating how much I share. I personally don't love already knowing a lot of songs when an album comes out. Curious what yall think? RE: Demos - rooftopsongs - 04-21-2026 I want to check it out. But I do like going into a new album fresh. Same reason I don’t watch movie trailers. RE: Demos - mattclear - 04-21-2026 Sharing teasers before the release gets me excited. Demos after the release feel special. I like hearing the work in it's final form as a whole first so that I get "the experience," but then want to hear and learn as much as I can about how it got there. So for me, snippets of the demo would be exciting now with the full demo released later. Or I could just listen later. RE: Demos - wilderland - 04-21-2026 Love the demos so far! I hate when half an album is released via finished singles before it drops, but I think the combination of these being demos and them not being easily replayed via streaming is an entirely different scenario. It's almost like hearing them live at a show before they drop, which I dig. RE: Demos - gruidl - 04-24-2026 Love it, and appreciate you sharing! As for how much to share, teasers through a few demos give us at least a sense of where you're going. One of my favorite bands will drop a single, then the new record, and then on the back side of promoting the new record, will drop demos for what have become familiar songs, which give fans an inside view. Do you want to re-engineer that to share ahead of time? BTW, listening to How It's Going to End...I couldn't help but pick up my bass and play along. Great stuff. RE: Demos - kposten - 05-08-2026 Hearing demos is always cool, but in the lead-up to an album I usually just prefer small snippets of different songs, especially if they potentially show off different sounds and themes present on the full project. These sound great! RE: Demos - chasetremaine - 05-12-2026 (04-21-2026, 05:42 PM)bry Wrote: Gonna be adding more demos along the way but still debating how much I share. I personally don't love already knowing a lot of songs when an album comes out. Curious what yall think? I have a member platform where I share demos and early versions of songs that might end up on future albums. I've found that leaving this choice up to listener discretion works best. The people who don't want songs spoiled ahead of time will choose for themselves not to listen to the early versions I share; those people wait for the final versions on purpose. But then there are the people who don't care or who specifically love hearing demos and early versions. In your case, I'm sure there are people who bought into your Kickstarter without even listening to your demos, meanwhile there might be people who'd want to hear more songs before feeling confident that they want to support. I think sharing more demos would be a win-win. |
